GLASS BOTTLE ASSAULT & MILLIONS LOST: ‘Oleg Bakinski’ and Ex-Ukrainian Minister Face Judgment in Baku Courtroom Drama!

The trial of Oleq Krapivin—widely known in the criminal underworld as “Oleg Bakinski”—and former Deputy Minister of Ukraine’s Defense Industry, Kucher Konstantin Antonovich, has concluded at the Baku Court for Grave Crimes. On July 25, the verdicts were announced.

According to Bizimyol.info, presiding judge Elnur Nuriyev sentenced “Oleg Bakinski” to 2 years and 6 months of suspended imprisonment. He had previously been released under house arrest.

Born in 1960, Oleq Krapivin was found guilty of hooliganism.

In addition to hooliganism, former deputy minister Konstantin Kucher was also charged under Article 178.4 of the Criminal Code (fraud involving especially large amounts). However, he was acquitted of the fraud charge but received 2 years and 6 months of actual imprisonment for hooliganism.

According to the indictment, the victim in the case is Valery Zakharenko, an officer of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), who allegedly had several million euros deposited at “Gunay Bank”—a bank whose license had been revoked years prior. When Zakharenko came to Baku to retrieve his funds, the bank had already been closed.

To resolve the issue, Oleq Bakinski, Konstantin Kucher, and Valery Zakharenko met at “Babek Plaza.” However, an argument broke out. Prosecutors allege that Bakinski struck Zakharenko with a glass bottle, causing injuries that required treatment at “Yeni Klinika.”

As a result, both Bakinski and Kucher were charged with hooliganism.

Kucher’s assets had previously been frozen, but the court ordered the freeze lifted after he was acquitted of the fraud charge.

Both defendants pleaded not guilty during the trial and requested full acquittal in their closing statements.

Interestingly, the name of Füzuli Musayev, Vice President of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, also appears in the case. Though listed as a witness and summoned multiple times, he failed to appear in court.

Oleq Krapivin is also known as a prominent businessman in Ukraine and a leader within the Azerbaijani diaspora. He formerly served as the head of the Kyiv branch of the Congress of Ukrainians of Azerbaijan.
