On July 19, during a meeting with participants of the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressed several crucial topics and delivered important messages. In all cases, the answers given to participants’ questions reflected President Aliyev’s far-sighted and well-considered policies.
This was stated by Member of Parliament Mushfig Jafarov in an interview with the news portal Bizimyol.info. The MP noted that the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum hosted around 140 foreign guests from 52 countries, including representatives from over 30 news agencies, 7 international organizations, around 80 media institutions, and other specialized bodies.
President Ilham Aliyev spoke from Khankendi to the international community, clearly highlighting both the truths of Azerbaijan and the obscure aspects of global politics.
In response to the question from Ukrainian journalist Dmytro Gordon, founder of the 'Gordon' media outlet, who asked: 'What advice can you give to Ukraine and Ukrainians?'—President Ilham Aliyev stated:
A few years ago, I had the chance to answer a similar question from a Ukrainian representative at an event. My answer today is no different than it was then, and I believe it aligns with the wishes of the Ukrainian people—never accept occupation. That is the main advice. That’s exactly what we did.
According to the MP, this response not only reflects the President’s personal stance on occupation but also represents Azerbaijan’s national struggle against it. Azerbaijan recognizes Ukraine's territorial integrity and, as a nation that fought against occupation for years, it is natural to show such sensitivity and determination.
He further emphasized that the forum clarified a wide range of issues—from the Zangezur corridor to the peace agreement with Armenia—and clearly demonstrated Azerbaijan’s stance on global developments."
